Prof. Zhi Zong, Fuyao University of Science and Technology

Speech Title: Ship Icedynamics

Professor Zhi Zong from Fuyao University of Science and Technology presented a report titled "Ship Icedynamics". He proposed a probabilistic model based on the Monte Carlo method, which utilizes ten random variables obtained from in-situ measurements and a Random Pore Model to evaluate the ship resistance of the Xuelong RV in ice-covered waters. The results indicate that the ship resistance follows a Gamma distribution.

Prof. Weixi Huang, Tsinghua University

Speech Title: Numerical Study on Boundary Layer Flow Over the Bow of SUBOFF Model with Turbulent Inflow: Transition and Induced Noise

Prof. Weixi Huang from Tsinghua University elaborated on his "Numerical Study on Boundary Layer Flow Over the Bow of SUBOFF Model with Turbulent Inflow: Transition and Induced Noise". The study investigates the transition characteristics and induced noise in the boundary layer flow over the curved edge of an axisymmetric bow using large-eddy simulation. It reveals that geometric curvature and inflow turbulence intensity influence transition location and turbulence evolution, noting that flow-induced and structural noise contribute comparably at the sonar platform in the mid-to-high frequency range, while far-field structural noise achieves a sound pressure level similar to that of flow-induced noise.

Assoc Prof. Choy Yat Sze from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University reported on the "Development of Advanced Acoustic Absorbers for Flow-Influenced

Applications". She proposed a novel compact meta-liner and its impedance model, achieving highly efficient broadband sound absorption under grazing flow conditions through theoretical and experimental validation, thereby providing a new solution for aeroacoustic noise control.
